The
Alternative Café
presents
Hallows The Alternative Café strives to expose unique and inspiring artists to the Central Coast. We are displaying our latest selection of four local artists in an exhibition entitled "Hallows." The word hallow means "to make holy or sacred," which is evident in Ray Magsalay's shamanistic assemblages, Butch Adams's spirited monsters, Paxton Mobley's dream world, and Devon Ryan's macabre commentary on social ironies. We have two late inclusions by Eric Joyner, as well. The common thread these artists share is perfect for an opening reception on Halloween, October 31st, from 6—9 pm. Enhancing this event are DJ Christina McKnew, wine from Chateau Sinnet, and our guest barista Tim McKnew. This event is free and open to the public of all ages. The "Hallows" exhibition will be available for viewing through Monday, December 8th. The Golden State Theatre, in historic downtown Monterey, has donated 25 pairs of tickets to us for their Animé After Dark film festival on November 28—30th. We will be collecting names during our reception for a free raffle. For more information, visit www.goldenstatetheatre.com/anime.
